- Deng Xiaoping Quotes-

Deng Xiaoping
Deng Xiaoping
Chinese leader. His greatest contribution to modern China came when this veteran revolutionary was well into his 70s, and the backlash against the Chinese Cultural Revolution had propelled him to the top of China's ruling elite. Deng pushed to remake education in China, and allowed students to go abroad for college, sparking a craze for learning English. He abandoned many orthodox communist doctrines and attempted to incorporate elements of the free-enterprise system into the Chinese economy.
(1904-1997)

Lao Tzu
Lao Tzu
Old Master - Ancient Chinese Taoist Sage. Many believe he never existed at all, others give him several possible historical identities. The exact date of birth of him is unknown. There are numerous legends about him. Lao Tzu believed that human life, like everything else in the universe, is constantly influenced by outside forces. He believed “simplicity” to be the key to truth and freedom and encouraged his followers to observe, and seek to understand the laws of nature; to develop intuition and build up personal power; and to use that power to lead life with love, and without force. His eighty-one sayings of the “Tao-Te Ching” are the world’s most translated classic next to the Bible. (between 600 and 300 B.C)
